I had a terrible nightmare last night. I was at my old house in Subang, and I saw ghosts, much like the 'family of four' ghost in the lift in the movie Jangan Pandang Belakang. This morning, in my office, one staff had to bring along her own son and this boy is starting to sing some 'dua insan sedang bercinta' kind of tune, and he's sitting nearby my desk.
Featured today in my blog is a not-so-recent discovery in the form of Mathieu Ranson a.k.a Fisk Industries. One website reckons Fisk Industries plays IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) which would have put him in the same vein with Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, and Telefon Tel Aviv. Upon listening to one of the song obtained from this two-disc set EPs and Rarities there are a few clear evidence that Fisk Industries are indeed IDM. (Although there is not much that I can say about Aphex Twin, or Boards of Canada, or Telefon Tel Aviv) According to allmusicguide, IDM is "a genre of electronic music derived from dance music of the 1980s and early 1990s which puts an emphasis on novel processing and sequencing". Wikipedia describes IDM "music referred to as IDM is generally abstract, and may range from soft ambient textures to more abrasive noise". Listening to this suddenly reminds me of Kreidler. That night in 2003 in UM, 2030 hours, a gig in a lecture theatre with an electronica band from Germany, I was in love. Sadly I didn't have a camera. Those were the days when I had nothing else in common but only myself and music that I like.Damn it this office is so lonely.
