Explosions in Downtown KL
Pa'an said he only fancies Explosions in Those Who Tell the Truth... Well, that I have to nod in agreement with him because since then I have been struggling to swallow their music. My problem is not with the mellowness of their well, uh... whatever people call it. The extended break, the long, long, long, long, long, long, long intro, the song cycle never seem to go in full circle and it keeps on making me feeling frustrated and bored. Skip to the next track. No, then skip to the next CD. I thought Godspeed You Black Emperor makes a more dead-er music but I find myself never want to hit the skip button when the Canadian band is playing. But for no apparent reason. Even the most sedentary Sundays won't make you feel like wanting to listen to Explosions.
But I'll still be going to tonight's show. Armed with a camcorder (Yes, I've learned my lesson) and here I am ready to embrace what would be the only chance of me seeing a rare band giving a rare performance in Malaysia.
In the meantime, last week I chanced upon this 8-track remix album by Amp Live. It's a remix album of Radiohead's In Rainbows and it's called Rainydayz. Download it for free at www.onesevensevensix.com
See you (anyone) at Ruums club tonight.
